2008 Paula 4 Kids Celebrity Golf Event

The 2nd Annual Paula 4 Kids Celebrity Golf Event will be held on Saturday, January 12th at Lakewood Ranch Country Club.  This years event promises to provide something for the whole family to enjoy beginning with a Community Golf Tournament and Golf Expo/Demo Day running in parallel during the morning, followed by a Celebrity Golf Clinic and 9-Hole Exhibition in the afternoon and then finished off by a Private Dinner Reception with Paula and her celebrity guests, 2007 Nabisco Championship Winner Morgan Pressel and 2006 Remax World Long Drive Champion, Gerry James that evening.

The Paula 4 Kids Celebrity Golf Event was created by Paula with the express purpose of raising money to support the development a dedicated facility for the First Tee of Sarasota/Manatee that can provide access to golf and the life skill programs that are offered by the First Tee Program to the youth of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

The following will outline the agenda for the day and the different opportunities that are available for you to participate in this great event:

The Golf Expo/Demo Day
The Golf Expo/Demo day will be available to the General Public and will offer the opportunity for someone to win $1,000,000 in our Hole In One Contest or $10,000 in our putting contest.  During the day you will also have the opportunity to test out some of the hottest new equipment in the golf industry from Taylor Made, Rife and Hi-Tec Golf, and participate in a number of golf clinics and get some personal tips from the Tour Performance Golf Institute (TPGI).  This event will start at 10:00 AM and will run until 1:00 PM.

Included in this will be a Vendor Expo area where a number of local area vendors will have display booths set up where you can speak with their representatives and learn more about their products and services.  There are a limited number of Vendor Expo Booths available so if you would be interested in this great opportunity to market you companies products or services, please visit our Sponsorship page where you can get more information on these opportunities.

Community Golf Tournament
The Paula 4 Kids Community Golf Tournament will be comprised of a limited field of teams that will be comprised 3-Amatuers and one PGA Professional from each of the golf clubs in the Sarasota/Bradenton Area.  These teams are available through your PGA Professioinal so if you are interested in being one of the amateurs on one of these teams, please contact the Head Professional at your golf club to see if they are participating and if there is any space available.  If your golf professional is not participating or the team is already full, we can provide you with a professional.  Entry Fee for the event is $500 per player and teams are made up of 3-Amateurs and 1-Professional.  If you are interested in this, please contact the First Tee at (941) 993-0046.

The tournament will be an 18-Hole Scramble.  In addition, each player will have the opportuntity to purchase a "Long Drive" shot to have 2005 & 2006 Remax World Long Drive Champion Gerry James will hit their drive on the hole.

Celebrity Golf Clinic and 9-Hole Exhibition
Upon completion of the golf tournament, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Gerry James, Casey Wittenberg (2003 US Amateur Runner-Up and IMG Academies graduate) and David Whelan (IMG Academies Director of Instruction and current coach to both Paula Creamer and Casey Wittenberg) will conduct a golf clinic and exhibition on the driving range.  This will be a great opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the World's Best Players and learn some practice tips to improve your game.

Following this, the Celebrities will pair up with some of the First Tee of Sarasota/Manatee's brightest young stars in a 9-hole exhibition match.  This match will provide an opportuntity for you to walk the fairways alongside the players to get a chance to see them up close and personal at work.  Who know's you might even have a chance to Play alongside them as the Qualifiers for our Million Dollar Hole in One and $10,000 Putt will play these shots alongside these celebrities during the exhibition match.

Celebrity Dinner Reception
The day will be finished off with a private dinner reception with Paula and her celebrity guests at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club.  This dinner reception will be limited to only 200 guests and tickets can be purchased for $200/person or $1,500 for a complete table of 10.  These tickets are on a first come first serve basis to don't wait because these won't last long.  For tickets, you can purchase these online by clicking on the ticket link above or you can contact the First Tee of Sarasota/Manatee at (941) 993-0046.

This dinner reception will include a personal photograph with Paula and both a silent and live auction where you will have an opportunity to bid on some authentic memorabilia from the celebrities as well as a number of other great items.  Watch the website for more information on these auction items as some of these auction items will be made available through sealed bid to the general public as well during the Golf Expo/Demo Day.
